E-Filing in Mumbai
The ongoing project forming part of the organization's focus on the Digital Public Infrastructure.
The government has made considerable investments (of over Rs. 7000 crores) for phase III of its E-Courts project. A part of the e-courts project being undertaken by the Supreme Court and Department of Justice is the implementation of e-filing systems across courts in India. Preliminary experience and understanding of the e-filing systems prevalent in Mumbai find immense potential, and several shortcomings in citizens' access to justice.
Therefore, this project seeks to undertake a scoping study of the prevailing e-filing system in Mumbai to demonstrate specific hurdles that stakeholders face in the existing system while proposing solutions for the implementation of e-filing systems to suit requirements upon considering
shortcomings of stakeholders.
